Frequently asked questions

What is OrthoStep Extra?

OrthoStep Extra provides additional pairs of custom insoles made strictly from your existing podiatry prescription. It is designed for patients who already have NHS or private orthotics and need replacements or extra pairs without a new appointment.

How does OrthoStep Extra work?

You upload a clear copy of your existing prescription. An HCPC-registered podiatrist reviews it, and if everything is clear, your insoles are manufactured to match the original specification and dispatched.

How much does it cost?

Pricing depends on the type and complexity of your original prescription. Once your prescription is reviewed, we confirm suitability and pricing before manufacture.

Do I need an appointment?

No appointment is required if you already have a valid prescription from a podiatrist. OrthoStep Extra is specifically for prescription-matched reorders.

What if my prescription is old or unclear?

We will review it first. If clarification is needed, we will contact you before proceeding. No insoles are made without clinical confirmation

How long does the review take?

Prescriptions are typically reviewed within 24 hours on working days.

What do I need to upload?

Please upload a clear photo or scan of your original prescription and a clear photo of your existing insole. The insole image helps confirm materials, shape, and orientation alongside the prescription. If anything is unclear, we will contact you before proceeding.

Can you copy my existing orthotics?

Insoles are made strictly from the original prescription, not from physical copies alone. If you are unsure whether your documents are suitable, upload them and we will advise.
